Nursing Laboratory Facilitator

Position Overview
This role involves supporting educators in the daily functioning of laboratory environments, ensuring that all necessary equipment and materials are ready for scheduled sessions.

Key Responsibilities
1. Assist in the preparation and execution of laboratory demonstrations, providing guidance to students and overseeing lab activities. Address student inquiries related to laboratory topics and direct them to instructors when necessary.
2. Carry out various tasks related to the management and upkeep of laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring a clean and organized workspace.
3. Uphold safety standards within the laboratory and classroom, handling hazardous materials in compliance with safety regulations. Ensure proper labeling of chemicals and materials according to applicable legislation.
4. Maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, and facilitate the ordering and receipt of equipment and supplies.
5. Update and manage lists of laboratory requirements, preparing necessary equipment and supplies for scheduled classes.
6. Identify and address laboratory-related issues in collaboration with instructors to develop effective solutions.
7. Oversee the maintenance of medication carts and manage the laboratory schedule.
8. Perform additional related duties as needed.

Qualifications
Education and Experience
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing with a minimum of five years of relevant experience, including work in an educational environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of British Columbia.

Skills and Abilities
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with entry-level competencies for registered nurses.
- Knowledge of medical supplies and basic computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and email.
