Island Health is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Diabetes Education Nurse to join our team.

As a Diabetes Education Nurse, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals with diabetes to manage their condition effectively. You will provide comprehensive education, support, and resources to patients and their families, helping them achieve optimal health outcomes.

Qualifications: Education, Training And Experience
  • Possess a current Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) certification or be eligible for CDE certification within three years of employment.
  • Hold active registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrate recent, relevant experience in diabetes care.
  • Exhibit a strong understanding of current theories, technologies, and practices related to diabetes mellitus management.
  • Possess knowledge of adult education learning principles.
Skills And Abilities
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to prioritize assigned tasks.
  • Build strong relationships with a diverse range of individuals, including colleagues, physicians, community partners, patients, residents, and families.
  • Maintain the physical capacity to perform the essential duties of this position.
