Position Overview:
The Aircraft Refinishing Specialist will be stationed at our Main Operating Base.
Key Responsibilities:
- Execute preventive and corrective painting and refinishing tasks on aircraft and their components. This includes inspection, removal, cleaning, touch-up, and application of corrosion prevention measures and paint systems, along with certifying completed coating systems.
- Conduct ramp duties, which may involve basic tasks such as marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and responding to crash and salvage situations.
- Provide support in handling chemicals and hazardous materials, including spill response.
- Travel to assist mobile repair teams as needed.
- Participate in training for professional development and certification.
- Maintain cleanliness in hangar, shop, storage, and office areas by removing debris and ensuring a safe work environment.
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and directives.
- Undertake additional tasks as required.
- Uphold a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation.
Qualifications:
- Candidates must meet one of the following criteria: graduate of a recognized aircraft paint/refinishing or apprenticeship program, qualified as a Refinishing Technician with the Canadian Forces, or a graduate of an equivalent foreign military/civilian basic trade-training program.
- Experience with CT114 aircraft is advantageous.
- Knowledge of aircraft paint systems, including corrosion prevention techniques, is essential.
- Eligibility for Canadian government security clearances is required.
- A commitment to health, safety, and environmental policies is necessary, with a focus on personal and collective safety.
- Engagement in Continuous Improvement, Lean, and 5S initiatives is expected.
- Candidates must meet the requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP) and Secret Level II Security Clearance.
