Position Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Senior Policyholder Tax Analyst at Co-operators. This role is essential in providing comprehensive support to both our internal and external clients regarding all matters related to policyholder taxation within the Individual Insurance and Wealth Management sector.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough analysis, planning, and oversight of work to guarantee timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Serve as a key point of contact for resolving complex issues.
- Mentor team members and contribute to training and development initiatives.
- Oversee the preparation and distribution of tax documents and filings with the CRA.
- Interpret and convey relevant tax legislation to stakeholders effectively.
- Collaborate with the Project Delivery Team to facilitate the implementation of tax modifications.
- Examine system processes to pinpoint areas for efficiency improvements.
- Lead internal audit requests and address audit-related concerns.
- 6-9 years of experience in individual insurance or wealth management.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of tax legislation and accounting standards.
- Background check required.
