About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Coordinator to join our team at West Fraser. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for coordinating modal shipments at our Canadian operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transportation Coordination: Support transportation requirements across multiple commodities in modal areas of responsibility at our Canadian divisions.
  • Relationship Building: Build relationships with transportation providers to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Negotiation and Rate Management: Negotiate competitive rates with transportation providers to optimize logistics costs.
  • Market Analysis and Risk Mitigation: Understand transportation markets and mitigate transportation risk to ensure business continuity.
  • Shipping Pattern Monitoring: Monitor and forecast changes to shipping patterns to ensure efficient logistics operations.
  • Divisional Support: Understand divisional transportation requirements and partner with Sales and Operations to ensure target inventories are maintained.
  • KPI Reporting: Provide monthly KPI reporting to measure logistics performance.
  • Special Projects: Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience: Minimum 4-5 years of transportation experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, or related majors.
  • Skills: Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively multitask and quickly change priorities.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Power BI.
  • Language: French speaking is an asset.
