We are currently looking for an Environmental Project Manager to join our Resilience Team in Calgary, Alberta. This role is situated within our Evaluation and Restoration (ER) Division, where the successful candidate will be expected to have substantial experience in managing projects related to Contaminated Sites, Site Remediation, and Environmental Monitoring.
The role requires a thorough understanding of both provincial and federal regulatory frameworks, alongside a meticulous approach to interpreting environmental data. Candidates should be adept at comparing sample results against relevant standards and guidelines, ensuring data quality assurance and control, and applying industry best practices. The successful applicant will be part of a dynamic team, providing project management, technical guidance, and leadership.
Key Responsibilities:As an Environmental Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing the development and management of project scope, timelines, budgets, and technical resources.
- Providing technical guidance, preparing reports, and conducting reviews.
- Ensuring adherence to corporate policies and maintaining quality, health, safety, and performance management systems.
- Mentoring and managing team members.
- Directing technical tasks and field programs related to contaminated site investigations, feasibility studies, and remediation efforts.
In this managerial role, you will also be expected to offer technical expertise to support ongoing business development and environmental projects across various sectors, including:
- Oil and Gas
- Mining
- Energy
- Infrastructure
- Brownfields and industrial redevelopment
- Government initiatives
Your role will involve ensuring that project management objectives are clearly defined and achieved, including scope, schedule, and cost management. You will prepare and review project reports, work plans, specifications, and proposals, while also overseeing technical budgets and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Essential Qualifications:The ideal candidate will possess:
- A solid understanding of environmental compliance and relevant guidelines for provincial and federal regulations.
- Experience working at contaminated sites, including industrial facilities, refineries, military properties, and renewable energy installations.
- A proven track record in designing and implementing field programs, analyzing data, and presenting findings to clients.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills that facilitate effective planning and decision-making.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel as necessary.
- Preferred qualifications include Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo.) designations.
A Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Engineering, or a related field is required, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Contaminated Sites and Site Remediation. Candidates should have a background in Engineering, Geoscience, or Technology, with a focus on Site Investigations, Remediation, Risk Management, and Environmental Monitoring.
