Director of Finance

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Director of Finance to join our client, Armour Transportation Systems, in Dartmouth, NS.

About the Role

The Director of Finance will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership and guidance to the organization. This includes developing and maintaining robust accounting processes, ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles for Private Enterprises and all applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions.
  • Champion the use of systems and technology to improve efficiency and accuracy of routine accounting.
  • Ensure roles and responsibilities are well defined, with clear accountabilities and timely feedback.
  • Provide timely and accurate financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the annual audit and tax return preparation processes.
  • Continually evaluate and monitor internal controls and develop enhancements as needed.
  • Work with business unit leaders to provide regular forecasts of operating results and capital spend.
  • Develop and implement change management initiatives.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators and produce financial reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
  • Manage corporate cash flows and make recommendations to reduce carrying costs.
Requirements
  • CPA designation.
  • 10+ years of experience in a progressive management role.
  • Experience with change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Significant experience in financial statement preparation and consolidated reporting.
  • Solid track record in process redesign and improvement.
  • Highly motivated with proven success in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
