Position Overview:

The Corporate Accountant will be responsible for managing the complete accounting cycle for the organization and its subsidiaries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage in corporate tax strategy and planning.
  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable, along with financial reports generated by junior accounting staff.
  • Administer payroll processes, Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) filings, and Employer Health Tax (EHT) submissions while safeguarding sensitive information.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual GST filings, ensuring timely remittance of taxes and installments.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable laws and regulations, ensuring the integrity of financial data.
  • Compile, analyze, and prepare consolidated financial statements.
  • Collaborate with external tax professionals for the preparation and submission of T2, T1134, T106, and NR4 tax returns.
  • Forecast cash flows and manage cash balances effectively across the corporation and its subsidiaries.
  • Develop annual financial strategies, including budgets and corporate tax considerations.
  • Work closely with financial institutions, stakeholders, and property managers regarding corporate accounting issues.
  • Support the Property Management Accounting Team as necessary.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accounting degree or professional designation.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a Corporate Accountant capacity.
  • Expertise in consolidation and taxation processes.
  • Advanced understanding of corporate tax planning.
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to adhere to deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and QuickBooks.
  • Familiarity with Yardi software is a plus.
