Opportunity Overview:

In the capacity of a Commercial Insurance Development Specialist, your primary focus will be on driving new client acquisition and expanding our commercial insurance portfolio through proactive outreach, client engagement, and sales initiatives. You will be instrumental in identifying potential clients within various business sectors, providing exceptional service, assessing risks, and delivering tailored insurance solutions.



Key Responsibilities:
  • Engaging in both inbound and outbound communications to cultivate a robust sales pipeline, devising marketing strategies to highlight our insurance products, and contributing to the attainment of sales, profitability, and growth objectives.
  • Conducting thorough risk evaluations and commercial assessments in line with underwriting protocols.
  • Collaborating with clients to assess their objectives, offering risk management insights and coverage recommendations, updating policies, and documenting necessary modifications.
  • Performing policy evaluations to recognize evolving coverage needs, addressing client inquiries, resolving issues, and escalating matters as necessary.
  • Participating in community events to enhance brand visibility and fostering relationships to maximize new business prospects.


Qualifications for Success:
  • You maintain a focused and positive approach toward achieving goals, effectively managing your sales portfolio despite challenges.
  • You develop strategic plans aimed at increasing market presence and apply innovative thinking to enhance operational efficiencies with a client-focused perspective.
  • You possess strong communication abilities to influence others and facilitate mutually beneficial outcomes.


Essential Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in commercial insurance sales and business development.
  • A post-secondary education in a relevant field.
  • A valid General insurance license.
  • Progress toward obtaining the Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) or Fellow Chartered Insurance Professional (FCIP) designation.


Additional Information:
  • Possession of a personal vehicle, valid driver's license, and insurance is required.
  • Regular travel is expected.
  • This position involves direct interaction with clients and/or service providers in their environments.
  • Extended work hours, including evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
  • A Criminal Record and Consumer History background check will be conducted as part of the employment process for successful candidates.
