We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Care Specialist to join our team at The Collegeway Animal Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our furry patients and their owners.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose and Treat Medical Conditions: Conduct thorough physical examinations and laboratory tests to diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds, and flocks.
- Provide Medical Care: Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds, or performing surgery as needed.
- Preventative Care: Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases, and advise clients on feeding, housing, behavior, breeding, hygiene, and general care of animals.
- Conduct Research: Participate in veterinary research related to areas such as animal nutrition, healthcare products development, and disease prevention and control.
- Perform Examinations: Conduct routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations to ensure the health and well-being of our patients.
- Provide Support: Offer a range of veterinary services, including obstetrics, dentistry, and euthanasia, with compassion and empathy.
- Certifications and Licenses: Hold a Canadian Veterinary Medical Association Certification and a valid driver's license.
- Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
- Communication Skills: Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
