Unit Overview:
The Intensive Care Unit at our facility is a state-of-the-art, 24-bed critical care unit staffed by a multidisciplinary team dedicated to providing exceptional care to a diverse patient population. We are committed to fostering a workforce that mirrors the community we serve.
Position Responsibilities
Reporting to the Clinical Manager of the Intensive Care Unit, the successful candidate will prioritize delivering outstanding patient-centered care in a fast-paced and complex environment, with opportunities to lead innovation and improvements.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Nursing College or School, preferably holding a Bachelor’s degree
- Registered in good standing with the regulatory body or eligible for registration
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within the first six months of employment
- 3-5 years of experience in an Intensive Care Unit or completion of a recognized intensive care course with at least one year of ICU experience preferred
- Proficient in interpreting advanced arrhythmias and 12-lead ECGs
- Experience with medical monitors, pumps, ECG machines, phlebotomy, and invasive pressure monitoring ventilators
- CCRN certification is an asset
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Proven leadership and assessment skills
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and self-directed learning
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and a strong commitment to customer service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of PRISMA or CRRT is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to provide patient education and communicate expected outcomes
- Advanced physical assessment skills
- Positive attendance and work history are essential
