Job Title: Java Developer

Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled Java Developer to join our team. As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing software applications using Java programming language.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop software applications using Java programming language
  • Test and debug software applications to ensure they meet requirements
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for software applications
  • Participate in code reviews and provide feedback to improve code quality
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in Java development
  • Proficient in SQL and relational databases
  • Knowledge of Spring Boot, Spring Security, and Spring Data Repositories
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Oracle Certified Java Developer certification
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and Kafka
  • 2-3 years of experience in the banking/financial services industry
