NDT Specialist - Aviation Maintenance

The NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Specialist role is a professional position that requires the completion of specialized training and a solid understanding of Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI), and Ultrasonic Testing for aircraft components. The ideal candidate must demonstrate proficiency in NDT practices and hold at least a Level II certification in Magnetic Particle Testing [MT] and Penetrant Testing [PT] in accordance with current CGSB standards.

This position entails conducting Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, and Ultrasonic Inspections on engine and airframe components, adhering to CGSB standards and internal quality assurance protocols, as well as company policies.

An effective NDT Specialist will possess exceptional mechanical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to convey complex technical concepts clearly and accurately. Physical agility is essential, as the role requires lifting heavy items and managing production demands with composure.

The preferred candidate will exhibit strong teamwork, organizational abilities, and effective communication skills, both spoken and written.

Department: Aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul

We are seeking two (2) Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Specialists to join our team in the aviation and aircraft engineering sector. Reporting to the Team Leader, the successful candidates will be responsible for executing Magnetic Particle Testing, Penetrant Testing, and Ultrasonic Inspections on engine and airframe components, in line with CGSB standards and quality assurance measures.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Certification as an NDT Technician is required;
  2. Proficiency in NDT practices with a minimum Level II certification in Magnetic Particle Testing [MT] and Penetrant Testing [PT] according to CGSB standards;
  3. Self-driven and results-oriented with a commitment to quality.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Comprehensive knowledge of MPI, FPI, and Ultrasonic Testing for aircraft components;
  2. Strong decision-making skills and the ability to prioritize effectively;
  3. Excellent listening, verbal, written communication, and collaborative problem-solving abilities;
  4. Proven team player with outstanding interpersonal skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide timely feedback to the Lead regarding findings, quality, and output.
  2. Complete daily tasks and additional responsibilities as assigned by the Lead.
  3. Ensure all NDT inspections are conducted and documented appropriately.
  4. Meet deadlines set by the Lead/Team Leader.
  5. Adjust task priorities in collaboration with the Lead/Team Leader as necessary.
  6. Engage in process improvement initiatives.
  7. Deliver practical training to colleagues.
  8. Execute job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
