About Us: Terus Construction is a prominent entity in the road construction and materials production sector, boasting over 30 years of experience in British Columbia and the Yukon Territory. Our operations are conducted through decentralized business centers, allowing us to effectively manage a diverse range of projects.
Our core services encompass road construction, asphalt paving, aggregate production, and the supply of hot mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete. Additionally, we undertake civil construction projects as general contractors, which include excavation, utility installation, concrete placement, sidewalks, and curbs, along with various road construction-related tasks.
With over 800 projects executed annually across more than 20 business centers, we handle a variety of work including highway rehabilitation, airport construction, and municipal projects. Our workforce comprises over 550 locally employed individuals.
Our Mission: Terus Construction, a division of Colas Western Canada Inc., is currently seeking a full-time Loader Operator for our operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Load materials from stockpiles to designated trucks and piles.
- Safely operate a wash plant while maintaining quality standards.
- Utilize heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Conduct daily maintenance and safety inspections of equipment.
- Perform pre-operational checks, including cleaning, lubricating, and refilling equipment as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of facilities.
- Position heavy equipment for loading and unloading tasks.
- Adhere to the principles outlined in the company safety program.
- Complete additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to work independently while fostering a positive and safe work environment in collaboration with team members.
- Awareness of occupational hazards and safety protocols.
- Experience performing routine maintenance on equipment, including lubrication and cleaning.
- Possession of a valid class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Capability to lift 50 lbs or more and work in various weather conditions, confined spaces, and at heights, while having the necessary personal protective equipment.
- First Aid and WHMIS certifications are considered assets.
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing is required.
