We're seeking a talented Producer to join our team at Rogers Sports & Media in Victoria, BC. As a key member of our production team, you'll be responsible for creating engaging local content for our viewers.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and produce video content that showcases the best of the Victoria region.
- Collaborate with community members and volunteers to bring unique perspectives to our programming.
- Oversee the entire production process, from concept to completion, ensuring high-quality content.
- Participate in live coverage of on-location productions and handle post-production workflow.
- Monitor local events to provide timely news coverage and connect with local content creators to enhance our program offering.
- Mentor volunteers and community groups in creating engaging local television programming.
- Build relationships within the local community to foster contributions to relevant and timely programming.
- Produce promos for local productions and provide information for digital platform promotion.
- Stay up-to-date with production equipment and participate in training sessions.
- Work collaboratively with internal and external customers and colleagues.
- A team player attitude with strong interpersonal and public relations skills.
- A creative and agile approach with the ability to tackle multiple projects and deliver on deadline.
- Strong editorial and storytelling skills, with a keen interest in improving skills to support production tasks.
- Proficient understanding of media production tools and technologies.
- Editorial savvy and strong storytelling skills.
- Strong interpersonal abilities to effectively recruit, mentor, and manage a diverse group of volunteers.
- A self-starter who works well with minimal direction.
- An understanding of community television and the production process is an asset.
- A valid driver's license.
