Position Overview

The Utility Support Specialist is a crucial contributor to the overall cleanliness and safety of our facilities. Reporting directly to the Environmental Services Supervisor, this role focuses on upholding cleanliness standards and ensuring adherence to relevant regulations. Responsibilities include the daily maintenance of equipment, managing inventory, and supporting infection control measures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents and staff.
  • Assist in compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular checks and upkeep of cleaning equipment.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and materials.
  • Support infection control protocols as required.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of Grade 11 or equivalent educational background.
  • Successful completion of a reading and comprehension assessment.
  • Prior experience in housekeeping or maintenance roles.
  • Adaptability to changing work priorities and tasks.
  • Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a similar working environment is preferred.
  • Must provide a criminal reference check.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift regularly.
  • Capable of moving equipment as necessary.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to various cleaning materials and their odors.
  • Potential exposure to germs and illnesses.

Compensation:

Salary is determined based on the collective agreement or job band.

Position is under Georgian Manor (Non-Union) and SEIU Service.
