Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement daily vehicle work orders to ensure timely repair and maintenance of our fleet.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to all relevant regulations and company policies.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot complex truck and trailer breakdowns, determining the most effective course of action to resolve issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, provincial, and local regulations, including those governing hazardous waste disposal.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the safety and compliance of our shop work.
  • Contribute to departmental accountability measures, driving continuous improvement and excellence.

Requirements:

  • 3-5+ years of experience in truck repair, with a preference for diesel mechanic experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of tractor, trailer, and tanker equipment maintenance, with a strong emphasis on diesel engine maintenance and repair.
  • Ability to plan and coordinate preventive maintenance strategies for transportation equipment.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Working knowledge and experience with maintenance computerized systems.
  • Licensed mechanic preferred.
  • Welding skills.
  • Preventative maintenance service.
  • Handling breakdowns.

  • Meeting annual safety requirements.
