Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate purchasing procedures, be efficient with personal computers, and have demonstrated initiative and motivation to handle moderately complex procurement assignments in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing suppliers based on price, availability, necessity, quality, lead-time, and logistical expenses.
  • Collaborating with internal departments to ensure timely fulfillment of purchasing requests and responsibilities.
  • Negotiating sales agreements and supply contracts to benefit the organization.
  • Coordinating with shippers and vendors to ensure timely deliveries and oversee the integrity and quality of delivered goods and services.
  • Assessing vendors and their offerings through in-person visits, interviews, and analysis.

Requirements:

  • Grade 12 or equivalent degree, training, or certificate in purchasing and supply chain management.
  • Basic understanding of corporate purchasing procedures.
  • Efficient with personal computers utilizing corporate software applications.
  • Demonstrated initiative and motivation to handle moderately complex procurement assignments.
  • Understanding of the various functions and responsibilities of the corporation's departments and divisions.
  • Practical knowledge of the various materials and services used throughout the corporation.
