Nuovo Artistic Photography Studio is seeking a talented and experienced part-time Makeup Artist to join our all-female team in Gastown.

We specialize in semi-nude artistic photography, creating conceptual images that challenge traditional norms. Our mission is to empower innovation through collaboration and push the boundaries of the photography industry.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Provide clients with a transformative and memorable experience while maintaining a clean and organized makeup station.
  • Perform basic hair styling (curls, waves, straight) and natural to glam makeup applications based on individual client needs.
  • Create a welcoming and comfortable environment for clients, ensuring they feel confident and at ease.
  • Maintain impeccable hygiene standards for the makeup station and tools.
  • Assess client needs and preferences to deliver exceptional customer satisfaction.
Requirements:

We are looking for a skilled Makeup Artist with a passion for artistry and a collaborative spirit.

  • Expert in skin tone color matching, face shape analysis, and eye makeup application.
  • Highly efficient and adept at working quickly while maintaining precision.
  • Proficient in false lash application.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to hygiene standards.
  • HMUA Certification and a professional portfolio showcasing your work.
Skills & Assets:
  • Availability Wednesday through Sunday.
  • Estimated 20-30 hours per week (part-time).
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing needs.
  • Welcoming and friendly personality.
  • Previous experience in a studio environment is an asset.
  • Excellent communication and active listening skills.
  • Strong time management abilities.
