Role OverviewIn this position, reporting to the Manager of Industrial Controls, the Controls Engineer/Technologist will take charge of the design, programming, and commissioning of Industrial Control Systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create electrical and control system design documentation, including single line diagrams, electrical schematics, panel layouts, load calculations, BOMs, and related documents;
- Develop and adjust new and existing PLC programs;
- Select and specify electrical components for inclusion in electrical designs;
- Oversee and assist with control panel assembly and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT);
- Support on-site teams during system testing and commissioning.

Essential Qualifications- A minimum of five (5) years of experience in Electrical Design and troubleshooting;
- A Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Systems Design, Industrial Engineering, or a related field;
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation with EGBC is considered an asset;
- Experience in control system and electrical panel design utilizing AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN platforms;
- Proficient knowledge of PLCs (Allen Bradley) and HMI programming;
- Experience in the food, manufacturing, agriculture, pulp and paper, or forestry/lumber sectors is advantageous.
