The AAMA is tasked with delivering technical insights, performance monitoring, and maintenance recommendations aimed at optimizing life-cycle costs and minimizing aircraft downtime for the assigned systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of CP140 Canadian Forces Technical Orders (CFTOs).
  • Prepare, submit, and oversee the completion of change documents in line with Department of National Defense (DND) AF9000 quality processes related to equipment modifications or technical changes.

  • Monitor High Priority Requests (HPR) within the Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS) and collaborate with the I.M.P. Supply Management Team to mitigate reoccurrences.
  • Analyze and optimize component Life Cycle Costing (LCC) based on customer requirements and reports from Logistics Support Analysis (LSA) Engineering and Supply Chain Management (SCM) teams.
  • Oversee the implementation of LSA and Engineering report recommendations to address obsolescence, maintainability, or reliability challenges associated with CP140 components.
  • Collaborate with other aircraft fleet Life Cycle Material Managers (LCMMs), Supply Managers, and Equipment Managers to fulfill CP140 requirements.
  • Maintain aircraft system databases as required.
  • Prepare and assist in creating briefings and reports for DND and I.M.P. Management as needed.
  • Participate in the CP140/P-3 International Operators Support Conference (IOSC) as required.
  • Engage in training and personnel development initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in electrical engineering or significant aircraft maintenance experience, ideally in a leadership capacity, demonstrating expertise in aircraft fleet maintenance management, project management, business management, or logistics management.
  • 5-10 years of aerospace technical experience with broad exposure to aircraft systems, preferably with the P-3/CP-140.
  • Formal training on the CP140 Primary Air Vehicle (PAV) and related systems is advantageous; however, similar experience with other aircraft fleets will be considered.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in DND aircraft engineering administration or project management is preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of military or civilian aircraft maintenance, along with a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical theory related to operational maintenance requirements for air conditioning, pressurization, auxiliary power units, and surface ice control systems.
  • Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) certification or DND experience as an Aircraft Release Authority (ARA) is beneficial.
  • Training in Logistics Support, Reliability Centered Maintenance, and/or management of physical assets is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, along with proficient technical writing abilities and the capacity to interpret aircraft technical orders and drawings.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools; familiarity with the CF Supply System, SAP, DRIMIS, or JDE is desirable.
  • Commitment to I.M.P. Occupational Health, Safety, and Environment policies.
  • Participation in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 6S activities relevant to this position.
