Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Equipment Technician to join our team at First Truck Centre in Kamloops, BC. As a key member of our shop team, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a variety of hydraulic truck-mounted equipment, cranes, bucket trucks, and hi-rail equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex equipment issues to ensure efficient and accurate repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty equipment, including hydraulic systems, engines, and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with our service management team to ensure excellent customer communication and satisfaction.
- Document detailed repair stories and maintain accurate records of work completed.
- Ensure a clean and safe workspace, adhering to all safety protocols and regulations.
Requirements
- Heavy Duty Mechanic Journeyman Certificate (Apprentice level 4 technician will be considered).
- BC Class 5 driver's license (Class 3 with air brakes or Class 1 is considered an asset).
- Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.
- Excellent customer service skills, with effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment, with a strong focus on quality and efficiency.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy lifting and use of tools throughout the shift.
- Proficiency in computerized scanning equipment and digital technology/mechanical software.
