Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Greet all customers in a polite and friendly manner, providing assistance and resolving any issues that may arise during the checkout process.
  • Transaction Processing: Process all purchase transactions in a timely and efficient manner, including deactivation of merchandise with respect to the Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) Program.
  • Product Promotion: Promote company-sponsored programs, such as credit card services, product protection, and charity initiatives, to customers.
  • Assistance and Support: Assist customers with bagging and loading of merchandise, ensuring their shopping experience is convenient and hassle-free.
  • Workplace Safety: Ensure safe work practices are followed, including proper lifting and maintaining a clean work area.
  • Register Security: Maintain register security and integrity through diligent cash handling, adherence to relevant company policies, and awareness of surroundings.
  • Escalation: Refer any service or transactional issues to a Customer Service Manager as required.
Requirements
  • Minimum Qualifications: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment is an asset.
  • Preferred Qualifications: A post-secondary education in a related field, such as business or hospitality, is preferred. Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role is also an asset.
Work Environment

This is a full-time position working in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
