We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at Ontario Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to carpentry, including preparing estimates, reading blueprints, and measuring, cutting, and assembling materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
Requirements:
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in carpentry
  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • Ability to work in a noisy, dusty environment outdoors
  • Construction experience in various locations, including commercial and residential settings
  • Maintenance and repair skills
