About the Opportunity

Stanpac is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team in Smithville, Ontario. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our machinery and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on motors, conveyor systems, and production machines to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues, using precision measurement and testing instruments as needed.
  • Collaborate with production workers to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
  • Fabricate repair parts using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Contribute to process improvements, reducing scrap and improving product quality.
  • Assemble and align gears, bearings, and shafts to maintain equipment efficiency.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules and records, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Procure parts for necessary repairs and adjustments, managing inventory effectively.
Requirements
  • Previous maintenance experience in a production or manufacturing environment is an asset.
  • Minimum grade 12 or equivalent education.
  • Relevant manufacturing experience and knowledge of mechanical, electrical, PLC, hydraulic, and pneumatic principles.
  • At least 2+ years of experience or formal education in a related field (manufacturing, millwright, engineering, etc.).
  • Strong mechanical and technical understanding, with excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills.
  • Required to adhere to all safety rules and regulations, with a strong commitment to safety.
