Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Purchasing and Contract Manufacturing to join our team at High Liner Foods. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing growth initiatives and purchasing/negotiating strategies to support enterprise objectives across key functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement purchasing and contract manufacturing strategies to support business objectives
  • Manage commercial relationships with co-packers and contract manufacturers to ensure high performance levels
  • Identify and develop the right suppliers to ensure best cost, quality, and delivery
  • Recommend hedging strategies for key commodities
  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics for key activities
  • Lead commodity strategies in line with product development and corporate initiatives
  • Build and strengthen cross-functional relationships between suppliers and internal process partners
  • Manage and mentor a dynamic team of purchasing professionals
Requirements
  • University degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, and/or Operations Management, or equivalent business experience
  • Significant experience in food-related manufacturing and contract manufacturing with diverse management experiences
  • Good understanding of manufacturing processes, supply markets, and quality management principles
  • Multi-year experience developing contract manufacturing partners and/or co-packers in frozen and/or ready-to-eat foods
  • Strong knowledge of procurement principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Proven leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams
