Electrical Engineer or EIT Opportunity at WSP Canada

WSP Canada is seeking an Electrical Engineer or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our Infrastructure Facilities Electrical Team in Thornhill, Ontario.

About the Role

As an Electrical Engineer or EIT, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design projects to multiple clients. You will work under the supervision of senior engineers and be an integral part of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical design and calculations for power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm, and security systems.
  • Apply knowledge of Electrical Engineering requirements, Ontario Building Code, and other relevant IEEE standards.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including Mechanical, Structural, and Architectural disciplines.
  • Prepare meeting minutes, technical memoranda, and reports.
  • Use industry-standard software, including AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and GIS, to prepare electrical drawings.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 1-5 years of relevant experience with design consultants in Ontario and Canada.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or full P.Eng designation with Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
