Senior Architect Opportunity

NORR is seeking a seasoned architect to join our dynamic team dedicated to shaping the future of justice architecture.

About the Role

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Architect to lead and oversee the design and development of justice-related projects from concept to completion. As a key member of our Justice Studio, you will collaborate with fellow members of the design team to formulate design solutions that align with contextual, budgetary, and aesthetic considerations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the design and development of justice-related projects
  • Compile information from reports and published documents to understand project requirements
  • Develop architectural designs that meet quality parameters, project timelines, and budgetary requirements
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and effective design solutions
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and advancements in justice architecture
  • Integrate engineering requirements, site surveys, and field review information
  • Prepare design reports, drawings, and models following office standards
  • Perform site visitations to ensure compliance with construction documents
  • Review project products, services, and shop drawings to ensure adherence to project documents and corporate quality controls
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior architects and team members
Requirements
  • 15+ years of project work experience
  • Experience in Justice projects is an asset
  • Architectural design software skills, including Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and other architectural design software
  • Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems and building codes
  • Registered with a relevant professional architectural association is an asset
