Unit Overview
The Central Scheduling Office (CSO) serves as the primary hub for comprehensive scheduling and staffing assistance across all facilities of Hamilton Health Sciences. This office operates under the Clinical Resource portfolio.
Position Overview
The Supervisor of the Central Scheduling Office (CSO) is tasked with identifying and coordinating departmental responsibilities to ensure smooth daily operations and effective service delivery related to the CSO.
The Supervisor - CSO oversees the provision of scheduling office services in a 18/7 operational environment, which includes shift work.
This role includes on-call responsibilities in the absence of the Manager of the Central Scheduling Office.
Work Schedule
37.50 hours per week; includes days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
This position is temporary.
Qualifications
1. Diploma in Business Administration from a Community College.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Scheduling/Administration.
3. Preferred 1 year of experience with Kronos or similar automated scheduling systems.
4. At least 3 years of supervisory experience required.
5. Proficiency in MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Access.
6. Understanding of policies related to staffing, scheduling, and time management.
7. In-depth knowledge of union Collective Agreements as they pertain to staff scheduling.
8. Ability to make informed decisions in line with policies, legal requirements, and collective agreements while upholding HHS core values.
9. Management or leadership experience, ideally in a unionized setting.
10. Proven ability to implement and lead Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives.
11. Skills in project management.
12. Competence in change management.
13. Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
14. Strong team-building capabilities.
15. Skills in coaching and mentoring.
16. Organizational skills.
17. Ability to analyze challenges and formulate solutions.
18. Business acumen.
As a condition of employment, proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is required.
