Position Overview

As a vital member of our team, the Category Coordinator will work under the guidance of the Category Manager to assist in all merchandising initiatives and related responsibilities within designated product categories. This role is essential in providing the necessary decision-making tools and reports to enhance category performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Category Manager in the Product Line Review (PLR), facilitating final product selection and communication across all relevant levels.
  • Coordinate pricing strategies in collaboration with the Price Management Team.
  • Conduct competitive analysis to ensure optimal market positioning and increase market share.
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain team to align sales plans and develop merchandising and promotional strategies that optimize inventory performance and drive sales.
  • Analyze performance data for assigned products and provide actionable insights to the Category Manager and vendors for potential improvements.
  • Review and adjust planograms for accuracy, working closely with the planogram team and the Category Manager for approvals.
  • Partner with the Marketing team on promotional materials, including flyers, signage, and brochures.
  • Support vendor negotiations for promotional funding aligned with the merchandising strategy.
  • Engage cross-functionally with online marketing initiatives, ensuring content accuracy and promotional opportunities are maximized.
  • Address and resolve vendor-related issues communicated by store personnel, including service problems and product concerns.
  • Act as a resource for store associates requiring merchandising information not available through standard communication channels.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of our store network to make informed decisions that benefit the business unit.
  • Participate in vendor meetings to discuss product-related issues and contribute to product line reviews.

Qualifications

  • A combination of relevant professional experience and educational background will be considered.
  • Experience in the retail sector is highly advantageous.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.
  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with management at all organizational levels.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Capability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written French is required.
