About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Product Developer to join our team at Arc'teryx. As a key member of our product development team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our most complex and technical products from concept to production readiness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of technical products, ensuring they meet Arc'teryx design intent and brand integrity requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Design, Raw Materials, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality departments, to achieve commercial viability of designs.
  • Partner with Design, Pattern Making, and Sample Sewing teams to ensure concepts and prototypes meet established function, fit, quality, and construction standards.
  • Support and coach Product Developers and Product Development Assistants, providing training and guidance as needed.
  • Compile product materials and construction information, maintaining accurate databases and documentation.
  • Execute to calendar deliverables, including concept sample and prototype development, material validation, and quality evaluation.
  • Contribute to the creation and evolution of construction standards with the Product Integrity team.
  • Work with Merchandising, Design, and Brand Marketing teams to ensure accurate product communication.
  • Communicate opportunities for process improvement and drive evolution within our Product Creation process.
  • Liaise with cross-functional departments to provide development support and facilitate problem-solving.
Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience as a Product Designer, Industrial Designer, or Product Development professional, with a focus on technical design development.
  • Undergraduate degree in Industrial Design, Technical degree, or equivalent industry training, certification, or related business experience.
  • Strong critical problem-solving skills, with the ability to think outside the box and work outside of seasonal timelines.
  • Experience effectively communicating with and traveling to domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers.
  • Experience working on PPE-specific products, gloves, technical packs, or similar products.
  • Comprehensive understanding of design intent, product aesthetics, construction, 3D form study, production, and fit.
  • Complete understanding of the product lifecycle process, from ideation to consumer.
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction, and sourcing.
  • Familiarity with key tools, such as Adobe Suite, Rhino, Solidworks, or similar software.
  • Detail- and accuracy-oriented, with strong organizational skills.
  • Demonstrate initiative, agility, and commitment.
  • Proactive in identifying root causes of issues and developing solutions.
  • Goal-driven, with a results-oriented attitude.
  • Effectively balance autonomy and collaboration.
  • Remain highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity.
