Senior Tax Specialist

Role Impact:
As a Senior Tax Specialist at Cadillac Fairview, you will play a critical role in ensuring the company's tax compliance and optimization. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing and researching tax issues, preparing tax provisions, tax projections, and tax returns, and providing service to internal and external parties.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare tax returns, income tax projections, tax provisions, and associated working papers by reviewing prior years' returns and working papers, analyzing financial information, and meeting with team members across the organization.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and process enhancements to optimize tax savings and efficiencies.
- Review Canadian tax provisions prepared by portfolio property accountants and communicate findings to ensure accurate tax liability or refund.
- Assist in providing responses to governmental and external auditors as required.
- Research and assist on issues by examining specific tax legislation and court decisions and relevant publications.
- Develop and communicate technical tax expertise by monitoring current developments in technical journals, conferences, legislation, and tax administration.
- Develop and improve departmental information flows by analyzing information requirements and sources and seeking efficiencies in processes.
Requirements:
- University Degree - Business related major.
- CPA In-Depth Tax Course (would be an asset).
- CPA designation.
- Minimum of years' experience in corporate income tax (exposure to Real Estate/Property Management an asset).
- Solid knowledge of income tax law and administration, financial accounting principles, and practices.
- Knowledge of commodity tax law and administration (would be an asset).
