Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute Audit and Review tasks, including planning, designing, and implementing suitable procedures and tests, while preparing working papers, financial reports, and note disclosures in accordance with ASPE or IFRS standards.
  • Optimize the preparation of year-end engagements (e.g., compilations) and tax filings for clients across various sectors.
  • Organize files for new clients and newly established businesses; manage multiple accounts concurrently.
  • Address pre- and post-assessment inquiries from the CRA, providing analytical support, gathering necessary information, and preparing responses.
  • Prepare and review T1, T2, GST/HST, T4, and T5 forms.
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, promptly addressing their inquiries and feedback.
  • Ensure timely communication with management regarding progress updates and challenges while mentoring junior team members.
  • Contribute to business development efforts and identify new opportunities with existing clients.

Required Qualifications:

  • CPA designation or CFE completed.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in public accounting.
  • In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), ASPE, and Canadian taxation.
  • Proficiency in accounting and tax software, including Caseware, TaxPrep, TaxPrep forms, and Quickbooks.
  • Strong understanding of business, accounting, management, and practice development principles.
