As an Infrastructure Reliability Engineer (IRE), you will operate at the confluence of production operations and software engineering, enhancing, managing, and monitoring critical production infrastructure and data workflows. At The Voleon Group, many IREs collaborate within a Production Operations team dedicated to refining shared production infrastructure. Others are integrated with software engineering teams to optimize specific production systems under their stewardship. IREs at Voleon tackle significant real-world challenges and work alongside passionate and skilled colleagues in a supportive, results-oriented environment. This position allows you to make a tangible impact: your efforts will enhance the reliability of our essential systems, mitigate operational risks, and boost the efficiency of our engineering initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- Enhance the fault tolerance and maintainability of proprietary data workflows and trading systems.
- Identify and resolve coding issues.
- Lead intricate deployment processes.
- Automate repetitive tasks.
- Monitor and prioritize outstanding production-related challenges.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to address incidents, ensuring the uninterrupted operation of critical production systems.
- Proficiency in coding and debugging with Python.
- Experience with Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of Relational Databases and SQL.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a persistent drive for improvement.
- A growth mindset and enthusiasm for continuous learning.
- Excellent technical communication skills.
- Attention to detail.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent training in a quantitative discipline or relevant industry experience.
- Familiarity with best practices in code maintainability, documentation, quality assurance, and continuous integration and deployment.
- Experience in supporting production systems.
- Knowledge of technologies such as gRPC microservices, Postgres, Pandas, Golang, R, Git, Jenkins, Bazel, Prometheus, Grafana, Airflow, and Kubernetes.
