About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Computer Network Technician to join our team at Hunter Express Ltd. as a key member of our IT department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal performance.
  • User Support: Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum productivity.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect our network and sensitive information.
  • Backup and Recovery: Perform routine network start-up and close-down, maintain control records, and execute data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Network Optimization: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
  • Web Development: Modify Web pages, applets, and scripts to ensure seamless user experience.
  • Technical Leadership: Supervise technical staff and provide guidance on best practices and new technologies.
Work Environment

As a Computer Network Technician at Hunter Express Ltd., you will work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. You will be required to bend, crouch, and kneel to access equipment.

Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 35 hours per week.
