Job Overview

We are seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to become a vital part of a versatile and skilled team responsible for the certification of aircraft Electronic Engine Controllers.

Key Responsibilities:
The seasoned software engineer will report directly to a Team Lead. The role encompasses the following tasks:

  • Assisting in the formulation of the technical development roadmap and standards;
  • Supporting the overarching software architecture of embedded systems (in accordance with the DO-178B development guidelines);
  • Executing the various phases of formal software development (requirements specification, component and module design, coding, and verification);
  • Assessing the quality of software components produced by fellow team members;
  • Facilitating the integration of software packages;
  • Providing clear technical updates to the team lead and customer Points of Contact;
  • Evaluating and consolidating workloads;

Required Qualifications

Essential Skills:

  • 5-7 years of experience in low-level embedded software engineering
  • Familiarity with the DO-178 standard or equivalent
  • Proficient in isolating and troubleshooting hardware, system, and software issues
  • Experience in creating technical documentation (development plans, specification/design documents, etc.)
  • Proficient in C programming language
  • Experience with Requirement Management tools such as DOORS
  • Knowledge of integrated development environments like Eclipse
  • Experience in developing software for microcontrollers in real-time applications
  • Understanding of communication protocols (CANbus, ARINC429, Ethernet, Serial communication (RS-422, SPI, I2C))
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with multi-disciplinary stakeholders (system engineers, hardware engineers, managers, chief engineers, etc.)
  • Self-sufficient and capable of finding solutions and compromises
  • Proficient in both English and French (spoken and written)
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer or software engineering
