About Our Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Therapist to join our interdisciplinary team at the Wood Street Campus. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive diagnostic, assessment, and treatment services for youth facing complex emotional and behavioral challenges.

Primary Accountabilities
  • Conduct clinical interventions and lead group therapy sessions to guide our youth toward brighter futures.
  • Provide invaluable consultation on behavioral analysis and management techniques.
  • Craft and refine intervention plans tailored to each individual's needs.
  • Develop and facilitate workshops and training sessions for our youth and their families.
  • Implement, assess, and evaluate personalized treatment and discharge plans.
Qualifications and Experience

You have completed your Master's degree in a clinical discipline such as Counselling Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, or a related degree with practical experience in delivering mental health treatment and assessments. You must be eligible for registration or be registered by the Nova Scotian or Canadian regulatory body or professional association related to the qualifying education.

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Excels in both interpersonal connections and autonomous work.
  • Can navigate routine matters and crises with decisive action and sound judgment.
  • Has a solid understanding of human behavior and considerable insight into youth motivation for change.

Experience in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and/or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy will be highly valued assets.

Working Conditions

Wood Street Campus operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with an interdisciplinary team providing stabilization, assessment, and treatment services to children with complex emotional and/or behavioral issues and disorders. You must be physically able to implement Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Model techniques.

Hours of work may include evenings to deliver programming and provide individual and group counseling and therapy.
