About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at ArcelorMittal. As a key member of our industrial solutions team, you will be responsible for providing technical support to our manufacturing facilities, ensuring the efficient operation of our equipment and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical expertise to resolve major issues and improve equipment performance
  • Support maintenance personnel in developing effective work methods and diagnostic techniques
  • Review and revise the preventive maintenance program to optimize equipment uptime
  • Analyze the effectiveness of the preventive maintenance program and critical interventions
  • Conduct detailed analysis of major equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive measures
  • Attend production meetings to discuss delays and work with the maintenance team to optimize work schedules
  • Conduct weekly analysis of work planning with the planner and maintenance coordinator to improve planning processes
  • Develop and implement planning and scheduling systems
  • Develop diagnostic processes and procedures
  • Establish priorities for work and authorize changes
  • Review and revise planning, track progress, and implement corrective actions with the maintenance team
  • Ensure liaison with Engineering for equipment improvement needs
  • Contribute to budget development and tracking
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Member of the Order of Engineers of Quebec
  • At least 5 years of experience in a comparable role in heavy industry
  • Proven ability to drive change and improvement
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organized, autonomous, and resourceful
  • Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities
  • Bilingual (French/English)
  • Commitment to health and safety, with a focus on promoting best practices in the workplace
