Position Overview: The Guest Attendant (GA) reports directly to the Health and Wellness Manager or their designate. This role involves providing residents with essential physical and personal care while ensuring a high standard of service and sensitivity to their needs. The GA plays a crucial role in maintaining resident safety and delivering care that aligns with our organization's mission and vision.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) as outlined in their care plans.
- Monitor the well-being of residents, report any changes to the Health and Wellness Manager or designate, and respond to medical emergencies.
- Perform general housekeeping duties, assist with laundry, and facilitate recreational activities.
- Document all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) thoroughly.
- Ensure the health and safety of all individuals in the residence by adhering to established procedures and protocols.
- Interact courteously with staff, residents, their families, and visitors.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding all resident information, including medication details.
- Provide emergency first aid/care until professional medical assistance is available.
- Exhibit a spontaneous and positive approach to enhance the experiences of residents.
- Assist with dining services and support resident admissions and discharges as needed.
- Complete medication administration training and assist with the administration of medication to residents.
- Perform any additional tasks as assigned.
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Completion of a recognized Personal Support Worker (PSW) program.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated understanding and empathy for the needs of seniors.
- Good knowledge of the nursing and health and wellness processes.
- Willingness to stay updated on changing regulations, practices, and procedures.
- Skills that contribute to our commitment to diversity and inclusivity.
- Ability to perform assigned duties both mentally and physically.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective individual and teamwork skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- A heart-centered approach that brings joy to others.
- Clear vulnerable sector screening (within the last 6 months), recent TB test results (within the last 6 months), or a Chest X-ray (within the last year), along with two supervisory references.

Education Requirements:- College diploma or higher in PSW/Health Care Aide.
