Job Summary

Athabasca Denesuline Education Authority is seeking a qualified Kindergarten Teacher to join our team at Father Megret Elementary School in Hatchet Lake, Saskatchewan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment for students, promoting social-emotional, physical, intellectual, and spiritual development.
  • Establish clear instructional direction to support a positive learning climate, incorporating Denesuline culture and language.
  • Plan and organize materials to engage students and facilitate learning.
  • Assess and document student learning daily, using tools such as the Early Years Evaluation (EYE) and Prekindergarten Essentials: Effective Practices, Policies and Guidelines.
  • Collaborate with administrators, colleagues, and community members to support an equitable and inclusive school environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students and other professional information.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a recognized post-secondary Diploma as a Kindergarten Teacher.
  • Experience in teaching First Nations students at a remote community is an asset.
  • First Aid Certification is an asset (training will be provided upon hire).
  • Related training or experience in the field of education is a definite asset.
