Position Overview:
The CCTV Inspection Operator plays a crucial role in overseeing and participating in various project operations under the guidance of the Superintendent. This position involves collaborating with work crews to ensure the quality and efficiency of work completed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize a CCTV inspection vehicle to capture, record, and assess the condition and positioning of underground pipelines.
- Conduct pressure assessments, flushing, and disinfection of pipes, demonstrating familiarity with water and sewer systems, valves, manholes, and related apparatus.
- Supervise and guide the activities of a Locator assisting with project tasks.
- Regularly compile and submit necessary reports and project data.
- Uphold and enforce safety protocols.
- Plan and execute projects efficiently, often without direct supervision.
- Coordinate with other operators and supervisors to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain equipment in optimal working condition and perform minor repairs as needed.
- Conduct pre and post-trip inspections along with routine maintenance.
- Perform additional related duties as required.
- Stay informed about changes in materials and techniques, adapting as necessary.
- Utilize various hand and power tools associated with underground utilities and heavy construction equipment.
- Ensure safe work practices are followed, particularly in the handling of pipes and manhole barrels.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in operating heavy machinery.
- NASSCO PACP certification is mandatory.
- Possession of a valid Alberta Class 3 Operator's license with Q endorsement and a clean Driver's Abstract.
- Proficient in pipe inspection software, as well as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated self-motivation and ability to work independently when required.
- Strong teamwork capabilities.
- Ability to adapt and resolve issues as they arise.
- A proactive approach to work, generating innovative ideas and engaging with others.
