Job Summary

The CCDA Strategic Advisor will provide critical support to the Manager CCDA Secretariat in developing and implementing strategic plans, annual reports, and communication strategies for the CCDA. This role will also involve providing subject matter expertise, advice, and recommendations to support the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes and performance measures for the Red Seal program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in and provide support to Pan-Canadian committees, working groups, and project teams as the representative for the CCDA secretariat.
  • Provide subject matter expertise, advice, and recommendations to support the development and implementation of continuous improvement processes and performance measures for the Red Seal program.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for developing a strategic plan, annual report, and communication strategies for the CCDA, and support the manager in approval processes and document release.
  • Synthesize and analyze trends and data related to strategic priority areas identified by the CCDA, such as Red Seal program operations, national apprenticeship issues, exam participation, and supporting greater participation of under-represented groups in apprenticeship.
  • Draft program key messages for use by the CCDA members.
  • Identify operational issues that have potential to impact the secretariat and resolve issues where appropriate and develop recommendations for the Manager and/or CCDA members.
  • Lead the identification and maintenance of operational processes and linkages to enhance common and consistent approaches.
  • Travel to and staff the kiosk at multiple events such as the Skills Canada National competition and the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum conference events throughout Canada.
  • Develop briefing materials, responses to Action Requests/Issue Papers, presentations, and correspondence to ensure that there is appropriate input, particularly those materials that can impact decision-making.
  • Draft project implementation plans, and support implementation and project management activities as required.
