Job Title: Nurse Practitioner - Red Blood Cell Disorders Specialist

The University Health Network is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our Red Blood Cell Program team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, education, and support to individuals with hereditary red blood cell disorders, including Thalassemia and Sickle Cell Disease.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients with red blood cell disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans, taking into account the patient's unique needs and circumstances.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and communication.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting self-management and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the development and implementation of best practices.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Current College of Nurses of Ontario Registration in the Extended Class (EC) as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in an acute care setting, preferably in hematology or oncology.
  • Strong knowledge of data management programs and ability to utilize information technology.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively independently and under stressful conditions.
