About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Helper to join our team at Osoyoos Pho Vietnamese Cuisine. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our dining area and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Dishwashing and Food Preparation: Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware, and prepare, heat, and finish simple food items.
  • Food Handling and Storage: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas, and ensure that all food is handled and stored in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure that all waste is disposed of in a responsible and environmentally friendly manner.
  • General Maintenance: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors, and perform other general maintenance tasks as required.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma is required for this role.
  • Experience: Will train, but previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is an asset.
  • Language: English is the primary language spoken in the workplace.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
