Chief Estimator Job Description

Graham is a leading construction solutions partner serving the buildings, industrial, infrastructure, water, and project finance sectors. We deliver lasting value for our clients through meticulous planning, scheduling, and rigorous safety and quality standards.

About the Role:

The Chief Estimator reports directly to the Ontario Pre-Construction Director and will have an in-depth knowledge of conceptual estimating, budgeting, tendering, proposal submission, and construction methodology.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the estimating team and oversee all estimates, including detailed review of others' work.
  2. Develop and implement effective estimating strategies to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
  3. Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure that estimates are aligned with project goals and objectives.
  4. Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the estimating team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
  5. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
Requirements:
  1. University degree in a relevant field, such as construction management or engineering.
  2. At least 20 years of combined field and estimating experience, with senior estimating experience of at least 5 years with a medium-to-large General Contractor.
  3. Leadership responsibility related to ICI related projects.
  4. Successful experience in leading $100+ million projects and managing and mentoring of an estimating team.
  5. Proven ability to lead and develop a high-performing team.
