Position Overview

The Line Maintenance Operations Manager is accountable for overseeing and optimizing team member deployment at the Toronto Pearson Line Maintenance Base.

This role entails coordinating teams from three Transport Canada recognized scopes, M, E, and S Aircraft Maintenance Engineers, ensuring the availability of the appropriate skill sets for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks on the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with fellow Porter leaders, external service providers, and contracted firms to enhance operations at the maintenance facility.
  • Ensure compliance with recognized work standards by all personnel under supervision.
  • Oversee the inspection and rectification processes for aircraft and components, including repair, modification, overhaul, and alterations.
  • Guarantee accurate completion of maintenance records related to overall maintenance activities.
  • Ensure that all maintenance tasks, both planned and unplanned, are executed safely and efficiently, adhering to Transport Canada regulations.
  • Act as the technical liaison with all operational departments.
  • Ensure that maintenance team members have the necessary tools, facilities, and training to perform their responsibilities effectively.
  • Maintain a comprehensive workforce planning schedule.
  • Actively engage in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting hazards and incidents encountered during daily operations; understand, comply with, and promote the Company Safety Policy.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing aircraft maintenance engineers and technicians.
  • Transport Canada issued AME M2, E, or S license.
  • Endorsements for DHC-8-Q400 and/or Embraer E1 or E2 are considered advantageous.
  • Experience at Toronto Pearson is beneficial.
  • Possession of a valid Canadian passport with the ability to travel internationally.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management, attention to detail, and ability to work independently.
  • Capability to obtain airside security clearance.
  • Valid G driver's license.
  • Familiarity with RAAS and AMOS is an asset.
