Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients' medical and psychiatric history, current medications, and health updates.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized care plans.
  • Provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during the intake process.
  • Document patient information accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with patient transfers to the unit and ensure a smooth transition.
  • Perform duties with frequent interruptions and under time constraints while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Stay up-to-date on legal aspects of nursing and hospital policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Handle crisis calls, make referrals, and complete assessments as needed.

Requirements

  • Current license to practice nursing in the state of Michigan (or eligible to receive or renew).
  • Previous experience in psychiatric nursing or assessment.
  • Current CPR or BLS certification.
