Educational Requirements

Work Environment
  • Willingness to relocate may be necessary
  • Work settings include nursing homes and facilities for the elderly
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Support meal service and assist residents with feeding
  • Help with mobility, including lifting, turning, and positioning residents
  • Maintain cleanliness in patient rooms and common areas
  • Transport residents using wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Collect medical specimens as required
  • Provide first aid in emergency situations
  • Offer companionship and emotional support
  • Perform light housekeeping duties
  • Launder clothing and linens
Certifications and Licenses
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • First Aid Certificate
  • CPR Certificate
  • Nursing Aide Certificate
  • Health Care Aide Certificate
  • Personal Support Worker Certificate
Safety and Security
  • Criminal record check is mandatory
  • Immunization records must be up to date
  • Tuberculosis testing is required
  • References will be requested
Work Conditions
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks with attention to detail
  • Must be comfortable standing for extended periods
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking is expected
