Role Overview:

Reporting to the Area and Division Managers, the Construction Project Controls Expert will assist Project Managers in ensuring that project objectives, scope, and deliverables are met within the established time frame and budget. Responsibilities include defining work and cost breakdown structures from contracts, scope of work documents, budgeting, and labor estimations. The role also involves creating and maintaining schedules for time, cost, and workforce while adapting to site conditions and daily logs; monitoring project progress, performance, and issues; identifying risks and opportunities; and providing stakeholders with regular updates through reports. This position will primarily be based on the project site, with occasional travel to various project or office locations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Scheduling, Monitoring, and Control (Kingston office and on-site)
  2. Creation and analysis of time, cost, and manpower schedules for projects.
  3. Monitoring schedules and performance metrics as defined by project requirements.
  4. Recommending practical performance metrics to achieve project goals.
  5. Providing stakeholders with regular progress and delay reports.
  6. Identifying risks and opportunities and collaborating with the team for suggestions and decisions.
  7. Monitoring project risks.
  8. Utilizing scheduling tools and software; proficiency in P6 is essential, while knowledge of Microsoft Project and other tools is advantageous.
  9. Proficient in spreadsheet and word processing software; Microsoft Word and Excel are required, with familiarity in other tools being beneficial.
  10. Understanding of project management principles, skills, and methodologies.
Key Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
  1. A bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering, or a Construction Technology Diploma from an accredited institution, or equivalent experience.
  2. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in field coordination and/or scheduling software.
  3. Experience in maintaining and monitoring project timelines and budgets.
  4. Competent project control, management, or coordination experience in construction.
  5. Ability to lead a field project team comprising both trade and non-trade professionals.
  6. Strong organizational capabilities.
  7. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Excellent computer proficiency; skilled in Microsoft Office applications.
