Your Opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Physical Therapist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. The Community Rehabilitation Interdisciplinary Service (CRIS) program is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy, patient assessment, and treatment to community dwelling adults with complex and neurological conditions.

Description:

As a Physical Therapist, you will provide therapeutic interventions to enable clients to achieve optimum physical function and independence in development, disease, disability, chronic conditions, illness, and functional decline. You will provide intervention (prevention, triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis, goal setting, treatment, management, education, consultation, fostering resourcefulness, case management, referral, and transition support) to individuals, groups, populations, and communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide physical therapy, patient assessment, and treatment to community dwelling adults with complex and neurological conditions.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Recreation Therapy, and Social Work.
  • Maintain adequate clinical records and provide rehabilitation consultation to other staff.
  • Mentor and supervise Physical Therapy students and Therapy Assistants.
  • Collaborate with community-based medical and Allied Health clinicians to provide effective and appropriate patient care and discharge planning.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from an accredited university program.
  • Current registration with the College of Physiotherapists of Alberta.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in Connect Care.
  • Experience working in an outpatient clinic setting.
  • Experience working with interdisciplinary teams, providing virtual assessment and treatment, and group facilitation skills.
  • Experience supervising therapy assistants and students.
